January is a slow month. Every friggin’ year. And instead of enjoying the extra time I have, I start to worry. So I thought I would outsmart myself this time and give myself January off. Well, off….?

I could call this the week of the quitter. I decided to quit my once a week side hustle and I quit those agonizingly slow Italian classes. And now there’s some room to explore new possibilities.
The other day I was scrolling through the beautiful illustrations of Eleni Debo’s Instagram. The short bio on top of her page read ‘Belgian illustrator living and working in the Italian Alps’. What the… I needed to speak to this lady.
There have been a couple of illustrations I made in the last 12 months I was particularly happy with. And if I put these all together, I can see there’s a similarity between them: the use of color, the texture and the shapes. I guess I found my style.
