It’s kind of crazy that I had never done this before, since making a mess and making my own prints sounds like heaven to me. And now finally 10 years into my creative career I joined a workshop screen printing.
The article I illustrated for this time was about travel insurance. You know I love to send and receive postcards… so one plus one turned into a whole bunch of stamps.
M and I are now officially classmates and we have our minds set on learning to speak Italian fluently – Dutch accent and all, I don’t care. We have a lovely Italian teacher who speaks Dutch with a heavy Italian accent.
The first real Italy preparation, aside from going on trips to explore where we want our new home to be, is starting this Tuesday. We enrolled ourselves in a beginners class Italian.
I rebranded Stoffer + Blik this year into the more international and better fitting Pencils & Pasta. Now it’s time to get the rest of the packaging thing all set before the ‘crazy illustrated recipe season’ starts.
I’ve made you an illustrated recipe for your breakfast tomorrow. I had these perfect blueberry pancakes last weekend. And again this weekend. And probably again next weekend. Enjoy!
While treasure hunting in Dordrecht I picked up this quartets game in a red and green cardboard sleeve. Looking at the color and the design of it, I never expected to find inside what I did. It is now one of my dearest illustration inspiration finds.
A few weeks ago I spent my entire Sunday in Adobe Illustrator, learning the program a bit better while making illustrations for billboards. Since I tend to go into detail too much, these clear lines and shapes were kind of liberating.
I’ve been watching a couple of documentaries on sustainability lately. The key is awareness. Did you know if you stop eating meat your carbon footprint will be cut in half? Oh, and here’s a delicious (vegan) recipe for you.
I was lucky enough to get a whole bunch of requests for custom illustrated recipe posters last month. I’ll show you a bit of the process, let you in on a secret and show the end results!
I was at coffee-lunch-shop-hotspot BIJ57 last week to drop off my brand new cards and restock the older ones. Back in October I had the pleasure to help out a bit with the decoration. I painted a big ass logo on the wall, lettered the windows and designed the menu. Let me show you.
I’ve been designing new postcards. After some photography issues I am finally happy enough with the result to add them to the shop. Cheers to that! So here they are, brand new designs and brand new photos.
